Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders

HIV is on the rise in Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities in Hawaii. Life Foundation provides free HIV testing, condoms, and safer sex kits to the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities in Hawaii.

Check out U.T.O.P.I.A (United Territories of Polynesian Islanders Alliance): U.T.O.P.I.A. was started in San Francisco in 1998 to support the Polynesian gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. Their goal was to bring Pacific Islanders together in a more formal social setting in order to ease the isolation that many faced in accepting their sexuality, yet remaining really close to their culture and families. Life Foundation opened the first O'ahu based chapter in 1999. For more information, visit www.utopiahawaii.com.
